Our team became the first in North America to do a single-lung transplant for COPD and pulmonary hypertension. Now, more patients than ever have the chance to enter the UT Health San Antonio-University Health System program.

The UT Health San Antonio/UHS program also offers the precious gift of time to those seeking a transplant. With one of the shortest average wait times of any such program in the country, most of the recipients on the waiting list will receive a transplant within six months; rather than the average two to three years at other centers.
