Pediatric Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Services

Glenn Halff, MD, Ken Washburn, MD, and Jose Almeda, MD, are proud to serve the community of San Antonio and South Texas offering not only Liver Transplant Services, but also focused and specific expertise in diseases of the liver, pancreas, and bile duct. As many studies in the literature have shown, outcomes UT Pancreatic Center - San Antonio after hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery have a direct correlation with volume of practice. Our high volume practice enables us to focus solely on these disorders so that the patients can get focused sub-specialized surgery. We are proud to be able to collaborate with all physicians of the area to provide these specialized services.

Our surgical team offers vascular reconstruction for those pancreatic tumors previously categorized as inoperable and can help with liver tumors involving complicated resections. The outcomes of these operations parallel or exceed those of tumors that do not involve vascular structures, thus the benefit to the patients is tremendous.
